So It's Been Awhile Since You've Splashed...

We get the call all the time: “It’s been X years since I’ve hopped in the water… what should I do?” And thankfully the answer is usually pretty straightforward. We factor in a couple things, mainly time since your last dive and comfortability in the water for our answer.

Generally, if it’s been somewhere around 5 years or less since your last dive you may just need to hop in the pool and checking out your newly serviced gear. We offer drop in rates for all our courses and it’s a very simple and easy way to get blowing bubbles again. Another option if it has been more than 5 years or so might be a Scuba Skills Update. This, too, is a pool session, but you will get a professional instructor to help run you through any troubles or worries you may have.

Finally, we tend to tell people that if it’s been over a decade since your last dive, the best course of action may be getting recertified. A decade in the dive world is a long time, especially in regards to technology (in fact, we regularly have older divers call in who’ve never dived a computer before, just tables!).

Of course, you will be the ultimate decider in if you need an update, a recert, or simply some pool time. No matter your choice, it will get you under the water and blowing bubbles!
