Scuba Luggage Tips

So you’re all set to go on your dream dive vacation, all the gear is serviced and prepped, and now you’ve just got to get it on the plane… what’s the best method? Well, let’s start with your carry on bag. The more fragile and expensive equipment should be with you at all times: this is your regulator and dive computer to start. Some people even carry their full face masks in their carryons.

The larger, more inexpensive and heavy things will take the checked bag. Think fins, wetsuit, BCD, and any other “wearable” accessories. This is also because they may be partially wet on your flight back. Always a good idea to thoroughly dry your gear when returning so no excess baggage fees pop up! Also, there are certain luggage systems like Stahlsac’s Wet/Dry system that offers separate compartments for your day clothes and underwater apparel.
