Quick Liveaboard Tips

Never dove a liveaboard before? Here are some quick and easy tips to consider before leaving port!

  • Prep, prep, prep. Don’t forget your save-a-dive kit (this can be small, most boats will have some), backup defog, mask straps, extra camera batteries, and any other normal accessories you bring. In diving, it’s easier to have it and not need it rather than vice versa.

  • Double check the dive itinerary. Some dives may be deep, some may require nitrox. Make sure that you’re qualified for every dive on the trip so you don’t lose out on precious dive time!

  • Make sure your DAN insurance is up to date. Some say you can forgo travel insurance, but dive insurance is a must (and usually a requirement for boarding)

  • Notify your bank of your travel plans. The last thing you want is for your credit cards to freeze in a foreign country!
