Certified: Open Water Certified in 2019 in Hawaii and that pic in the Body Glove wetsuit is me after the open water swim on my first day. I certified VERY RELUCTANTLY. As a swimmer growing up, the water didn’t scare me, but I didn’t love the up close and personal encounters with creatures in the sea. HOWEVER, I wanted to go on that manta ray dive. I completed certification that afternoon, then dropped into the ocean that evening and my first dive was a night dive to see the manta rays. They came in and I was hooked. My next dive was an intense drift dive in Jupiter, Florida. Honestly, I was not excited about diving once I was on the boat. The waves were high, the current was strong, I HATED my old triathlon wetsuit that was too tight and I had no real orientation with my gear. I did it. Didn’t love it. However, I enjoyed seeing the loggerhead sea turtles and the sponge coral. Diving solidified for me in Roatan, where I stayed at Anthony’s Key in 2020 and “dove my face off” for a week. I found my Zen. I found my buoyancy. I found another reason to travel and make friends around the world.

Training includes: Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Nitrox, React Right, Stress & Rescue, and Science of Diving.

Why I joined Coral Key Scuba: There was a help wanted sign on the door at a time when I was ready for a change from the corporate grind. I’ve never regretted a minute since.

Favorite Dive location: Hard to pick one…Jupiter FL, Bonnaire, Cozumel…but currently searching for new favorites

Bucket list Location: St. Eustatius, Sulawesi, Fiji, Palau

Bio: Well - I didn’t think I would get to bond in the dive community until retirement, but here I am with the Coral Key family. I love to talk to people about their dive journey. I love traveling. Diving amped up that drive to travel and I didn’t expect that. From a student starting their open water diver course, to an experienced diver geeking out on tech diving gear, I am here to chatter with you about it all. Every student that comes in the door is a potential dive buddy and I’m excited to be the personal shopper for every scuba diver and snorkeler looking for gear. It doesn’t matter if you’re overwhelmed or set on what you want to purchase, I’ll figure out with you how we make it happen so you can go off to the upcoming vacation that you’re excited to start. I love that everyone walking in the door has a vacation as a reason for coming in the door.
